Yes. You can get one (1) continuance no questions asked of your Washington State Department of Licensing Hearing. However, you must make your request in a timely manner. Just call the number listed on your Washington State Department of Licensing paperwork. (see the front page where the hearing date and hearing officer is listed) You will have to waive in writing your right to a hearing within 60 days of arrest and the 10 day notice requirement of the hearing. If you have a private attorney he or she will typically take care of this for you. (public defenders do not represent you in the DOL Hearing because it is a Civil Administrative matter)
